The Guardians of Power and the Book of Time (1-3)

Chapter 1 - First Day Back From Break

Carter

Click, the kitchen light comes on. Mom opens the door and light streams in around her tall lanky outline.

“Knock knock, time to wake up.” She sees Carter in his pajamas, a black and white striped shirt and fluffy gray loosely fitted pants, with his covers halfway on the floor.

“Ugh…” Carter sighs. He glances at his old fashioned black clock, it reads seven ‘o five.

Carter flops of the side of the left side of the bed and lands on his cat who was sleeping on the rug.

“Meeorrrrrrw!” the cat screeches.

Ignoring the perturbed cat, he walks down the hallway into the kitchen with a zombie like gait,looking sleepy eyed. He gets up on the bar stool and almost falls off.

“Oh my,” Mom says starting at Carter, “you look like a wreck this morning. Well, I guess you have been sleeping in for the past few weeks.”

“Uh huh..” Carter replies groggily. He sloppily eats his waffles, dripping syrup all over his face.

Mom mutters, “I hope we have enough food for tomorrow..”

Carter doesn’t even reply as he finishes up his meal and dumps it in the sink, making a big clatter.

“Hush! Father is still sleeping!” Mom half yells.

“Sorry mother.” Carter says as quiet as mouse.

His looks more awake as he heads to his room to get dressed. He puts on a red t-shirt with two whites stripes at the top with a pair of dark colored jeans and a pair of black converse shoes. He grabs his gray and black hoodie as he checks the time. It reads seven forty nine.

“Oh no, I am going to late for the bus..” he mutters. Thud, thud, thud. Carter runs down the hallway towards bathroom.

16 minutes later..

“Its eight ‘o five bro, where you’ve been?”says one of carter friends as they walk up the stairs on to the bus.

“Oh, well, you know… just woke up and I’m really tired still… so... yeah…” Carter replies.

“Oh ok that’s cool.”

There's pretty loud chatter during the ride to school. And every few minutes the bus driver yells,

“Quiet down everyone! Come on, shush!!”

And everyone mutters under their breath about how the bus driver is so strict. The big group in the back of the bus is the loudest. They like to make fun of everyone. They basically rule the bus, but they don’t do anything too dumb that they’ll get in trouble.

Carter remembers the strange dream he had on his 13th birthday. In the middle of the night, the night before his birthday, he started feeling a little numb as he rested his head against the pillows. His breathing started to keep in rhythm the the ticking of his clock. Suddenly, like a lighting strike, he started dreaming that he is in a dark white room. He looks at the shadows pondering what could be in them. A figure appears slowly from the shadows. It appears to be an old man.

“Hello,” he started. “My name is Oswald, and you are one of the chosen six.”

Carter sputters, “What?!”

Carter remembers the dream stopping just as he feels a fierce wind blow over him. After the fact, he woke up with a strange sensation and a confused feeling.

The bus jerks to a stop as it reaches the school, Woodrow High School.

As Carter enters the school he is offered a few high-fives and handshakes from his friends. A group of the young and newer girls in the school giggle by their lockers and try to hide behind their friends as he walks past. The bell rings right at eight fifteen just like normal. Mrs. Fork, Carter’s homeroom teacher, as always is yelling at the top of her old lungs for us to scram and get into her classroom. She is very strict so no one usually messes with her. I take a seat just as Mrs. Fork start babbling out instructions for us to get out our textbooks and turn to page 407. So boring! As people take turns reading, Carter starts to daydream about how nice it would be to skip school and head home and take a nice long nap…

-=+=-

The bell for lunch just rang at twelve fifteen and everyone is running to the cafeteria. Carter and his friends are always first in the line. It's always fun to try and get there first.

“Great” One of his friends say.

Carter responds, “What is it, Lewi?”

“I forgot to order a pb and j instead of the nasty pizza agggggaaaain.”

“Bummers. If you want I can get you a bag of chips.”

“Ah, thanks man! I really appreciate it!”

“No problem.”

Carter and Lewi walk over to their normal table. Some of his other friends greet them as they sit down. Carter and the rest of them talk and talk until the bell rings and the teachers are yelling for them to leave and get to class.

-=+=-

It's the end of seventh period as Carter walks out into the hallway. He meets up with Andre as he walks to the the bus.

“Carter! Carter please!”

“Hmh?” Carter turns around to see Ms. Ginger walking fast toward him.

“Carter, the principle just called me and said that you are to meet him in his office for a study group.”

“Really? I thought was doing well in your class…?”

“Well I don’t know why, I guess you will just have to find out when you get there.”

Kyle 6:10 a.m.

RING! RING! RING! My alarm was blaring in my ears like every morning. I reach over to hit the snooze button, leaning my whole body weight over the bed. The only thing that I succeeded in is falling off the bed. When my body hits the floor I groan, the pain reminding me that I had P.E. today. Sitting up on my knees, my eyes closed I slam my hand down on the alarm, making it quiet in my room once more. I hear the shower going and know that Avani is in it. I try to stand up, with the help of my bed, and succeed. ‘That’s the first thing that I have done successfully all morning, that’s sad.’ I thought drearly

I look around and blink my eyes quickly, trying to wake up. When that’s done, I open the door and walk down the stairs quietly, not wanting anyone to know that I’m up. ‘Though, they probably would have heard me fall out of bed, oh well.’ I open the kitchen door and grab some Frosted Mini Wheats and pour them into a bowl. I grab the milk and also pour that in. When I put the milk safely away, I creep upstairs, fully knowing that I’m not allowed to have food in my room.

When walking to my room, I crash into Avani, spilling my cereal, and dropping the bowl, and since it was glass, it shatters. I look down in horror and then look at Avani.

“WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU!” I yell angrily. “YOU CLEARLY SAW THAT I HAD A BOWL IN MY HAND!”

She stares at me and then bursts out laughing. I hear an exasperated voice behind me and turnaround. My mother in her full tired glory is standing there, her auburn hair in a high ponytail, her tired blue eyes full of worry, and her pink lips set into an O shape. I smile sheepishly, knowing that there was no way of getting out of this. Making up my mind, I say quickly,

“I was bringing my cereal upstairs, and I know that I’m not supposed too but I thought it would make the process quicker of getting ready. It was going great by the way, until Avani decided to crash into me!” Mom looks at my with a sigh, then looks at my sister.

“You’re both in trouble, now go get ready for school.” She heads down the stairs to her room and shuts the door.

I glare at Avani before walking off to my room and trying not to slam the door. I take a deep breath, reminding myself that it’s the first day since winter break and I’m determined to make this a good day, no matter what. I turn towards my closet and grab a random shirt off a hanger. It won’t matter what I wear because I’m just going to wear my favourite sweatshirt. I grab some jeans from my drawers. I run into the bathroom since my sister isn’t occupying it currently. I brush my hair and teeth then run back to my room. I put on my favourite, and practically only, shoes. I look at my clock and it reads that it’s six thirty a.m.. ‘I have some time to kill, like, thirty minute to forty minutes while Avanni get ready, then we have to walk to school, so we’ll make it in time hopefully.’ I grab my backpack and check to make sure that everything is in there. When it passed the test, I grab a new bowl of cereal, turned on the t.v. and started clicking through the channels

Like I predicted, about thirty minutes later, at seven o’clock, Avanni came downstairs. I stood up an walked until I was in stride with her. When we got outside, she locked the door and we went our separate ways. I walk down the streets, turning the corner when needed.  I look over and see a bunch of friends, laughing and talking together, I feel jealous and sad. ‘Why can’t I be over there, why don’t I have friends to hang out with after school or on the weekend?’ though, I already know the answer. I hear the names that they call me behind my back, “a geek/nerd”and a “child”. I’m only a year younger than they are, why can’t they let me fit in with them? I feel a surge of anger, then I smell smoke coming from below me. When I look down, I see a strange, yet familiar sight. My hands were on fire, more specifically my fingertips. I just stuff my hands  in the snow, and that puts them out. I let out a groan, but start up walking again.  I have come to enjoy the feel of fire on my fingertips, the heat and tingling enjoyable. I remember starting to have that happen ever since I turned thirteen, that night I had a dream.

I was in a dark room when an old man stepped out of the shadow.

“Hello,” he started. “My name is Oswald, and you my friend are one of the chosen six.” His voice was happy and cheerful. “Goodbye now!”

I tried talking back, telling him to explain. But, when he walked back into the shadows, I woke up. I sighed reassuringly, but then I realized that I was on fire. I was very fond of that memory (insert sarcasm here). I look at my watch, seeing the time is seven thirty, so I decide to focus on just walking for the rest of the way.

`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
7:50 a.m.
I finally get to school, my fingertips feeling numb. I always could take the bus, but I enjoy the scenery that I walk through. Knowing that school starts in fifteen minutes, I walk over to my locker, and grab the pamphlet about Yale, my dream school if you couldn’t tell. There’s a good chance of me getting into it because this is a really good high school, Woodrow High. Also because I am so smart, I mean I’m thirteen years old and in high school. I open the pamphlet and start reading it. I’m so absorbed that when the bell rings I jump a couple feet in the air.
The only time I wasn’t absorbed was when the “Cool Kid”, Carter Ashford, walked in. He’s practically friends with almost everybody. Almost. He happens to not even notice me. Which I don’t blame him because nobody usually does. I wish I was like him, friends with everybody. Jolting back to reality I walk to my homeroom/ first period, Chemistry (Honor). As usual, I’m the first one there. Mr. Alsin is in here as usual too,
“I shouldn't be surprised you're the first one here Mr. Goodwin.” He says without looking up from his computer.
“No sir, this is one of my favorite classes, so I don’t want to miss more than I legally have to!” I say brightly, taking a seat in the first row.
I reach into my bag and pull out an green notebook that’s filled with my science notes. Then I take out my trusty red papermate mechanical pencil. I open to a new page when the bell rings. Everyone starts filing in, shooting me dirty looks for already being here and ready. ‘This is going to be a long day’ I think miserably
`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

12:15 p.m.

An update on my horrible day so far, I’ve almost set things on fire. Not necessarily out of anger, just out of excitement. In first period chemistry, James’s paper started smoking. I tried to calm down enough for it to stop smoking. It worked, and luckily the fire alarm didn’t go off. Basically up until now, I’ve had to act like an emotionless robot, which is hard mind you.

I get into the lunch line. For lunch today there is... *insert drumroll* PIZZA THAT TASTES LIKE CARDBOARD! ‘Gross! I can’t believe that the first day back from break their serving us the thing they call pizza!’ I think disgustingly. A few paces later, when all is payed for, I look for a table. I realize that there's one in the corner occupied by the schools official loner. I walk over there and sit at the other end. ‘I don’t know if she wants someone to sit with her. Better to not risk it, what if she thinks I’m a nerd?’ I look down miserably at my pizza, and instead settle for a nice, juicy, Granny Smith apple. I take out a book called, “The Successful People of the World”. There are many people who went to Yale in here.

Before I know it the bell rings, signalling the way back to class, my ticket to Yale. I pack up my bag and walk over to the trash can and throw my lunch away. Then, I turn around and walk out of the lunchroom in the direction of my next class, Mr. Tuffey, Algebra 1 (Honor). Being one of the shorter students, I have to shove my way through crowds in order to get to class, in doing so I get a lot of dirty looks from the older students. Finally, right when the bell rang, I ran into the classroom and took a seat in the front, waiting for the bell to ring so I can escape this jerk-house.

`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
3:35 p.m.
‘FREEDOM!’ Is my first thought as the bell rings. I run to my locker and throw everything I don’t need inside. I slam my locker, earning surprised looks from my fellow peers. Slipping my backpack on, I was about to run out the doors to the free country when the worst thing happened.
“Mr. Goodwin!” I turn around hearing my name. There stood Mrs. Garcia, my robotics teacher, who must have been concerned seeing me run out of the classroom. Maybe I’ll finally have someone to tell that I have no friends!
“You were in a such a hurry that I forgot to tell you that Principal Stevens wants to meet you with some other students in his office.” She says it so smooth, almost confused. My heart drops below the surface of the earth into the core of magma.
“O-ok” I manage to stutter out.
I turn away, taking one last look at the doors of freedom before taking the long, yet short walk to the principal's office. I can see the door now. ‘Their kicking you out. They know your not smart enough. You don’t have enough friends!’ Thoughts like this swirl my mind, I start seeing spots in my line of vision. I was feeling cold for the first time since I got my powers, numb to everything. I vaguely remember someone trying to talk to me, the schools loner? Then everything went black.
Avani- 6:00
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
“Yay high school”  I say with an exaggerated tone.
I grab a towel and run to the bathroom to take a shower. I get undressed and slowly walk into the shower, turning on the water. While I was taking a shower I hear my brother’s alarm go off. Once I am done with my shower I turn off the water with confidence. ’That shower was awesome!’  After the awesome shower I get dressed into my Sweater and jeggings with a pair of knee high boots. I walk out of the bathroom, look at Kyle and then run into him making the glass bowl fall.
I try walking away from Kyle when the bowl crashes but he yells at me saying,
“WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU! YOU CLEARLY SAW THAT I HAD A BOWL IN MY HAND! “
I just laugh but stop quickly when I hear my mother walking up the stairs and groaning.
”I was bringing my cereal upstairs, and I know that I’m not supposed too but I thought it would make the process quicker of getting ready. It was going great by the way, until Avani decided to crash into me!“ Kyle explains.
“You’ re both in trouble, now go get ready for school.” Mother slowly walks down the stairs and walks into her bedroom shutting the door behind her.
Kyle glares at me as I walk down the stairs and into the kitchen. ‘What should I have for breakfast today? I know Yogurt!’ I look in the fridge for yogurt but only could find plain vanilla. ‘ Awe man! I will just have toast’  I grab some bread and put it in the toaster remembering I got in trouble. My toast is done so I push it on the plate and run upstairs to brush my long orange/red hair. I pick up the blue brush and brush my hair while eating in between. I look at my clock I see that it is six fifty eight.
I run down the stairs and open the door seeing Kyle sitting on the couch waiting for me.  I walk out the door and lock it behind me. I walk past Kyle wanting to leave him behind. Then I slow down remembering it was his first day from winter break on his first year and knowing that expectations will be different. I walk through the woods and  my hands feel enjoyable and I remember that dream that I had when I was turning thirteen.
I remember that I was sleeping normal when all of a sudden an old man popped out of the darkness.
“Hello dear Avani. My name is Ozwald and you dear, are chosen to be part of the six”
I tried asking questions and trying to find out what was happening but he just disappeared. When I woke up one day after that dream I found out I was given Earth.
‘Interesting’
I get to school and walk to my locker to put my stuff in until  I need them. I walk slowly to Mr. Salverson’s Organic Science class and finally approaching his classroom. I walk inside finding my seat in the back left corner. I take out my notebook and textbook to get ready for class.
“Hello students”  said Mr Salverson said glaring at me. I remember what happened Last semester. My powers took action at least I think.
‘Mr. Salverson was teaching a lesson but I don’t remember what he was teaching, anyway, somebody was  asking a question and in the middle of their question I opened my mouth to yawn when animal noises came out of my mouth.’
 I go through the rest of the day without anymore glaring well besides my brother. At the end of the day Mr. Dorato said that I needed to head to the principal’s office for a study group. I threw on my backpack and walked to the principal’s office, seeing what he would possibly want from me.
Chapter 2 - ToRnAdO aLeRt
Aura
It’s three thirty five in seventh period, and Aura is swimming laps around the pool when the bell rings. Aura keeps on swimming not realizing that the bell rung. It feels so nice swimming around, she doesn’t tell anyone this but she has the power to shoot spurt of water vapor with her hands. It makes her go faster in the water and Aura loves the thrill of going fast.
“Aura. Auraaa. Aura!”
“Hmh?!” Aura swims to the surface to see her coach Mrs. Cardinal standing at the other end of the pool.
“The bell rung five minutes ago. I know I usually let you stay after class to practice but I just got called by by the principle and he needs you to come to his office. I don’t know why you need to go but you just need to head there.”
“Ok-k.”
Aura climbs out of the pool into the chilly cold air. She chatters and shudders as she goes to get her towel. Aura heads to the shower room to dry off and get her clothes from her locker. The locker is customized with a beachy theme. She heads out of the natatorium (the swimming pool building) and into the faculty building where the principal's office is.
Aura is walking down the hallway when she sees Celeste staring off into space. She seems to be in her own world, not caring about the things around her. She is wearing a t-shirt that  orange with the words, ’Camp Half-Blood’ written on it, a pegasus, and more words saying, ‘Long Island Sound’. Also she has some dark blue jeggings on, and her Marauder's Map shoes based on Harry Potter. Lastly she has a harry potter hat on as well.
“Hey Celeste!” Celeste doesn’t seem to hear her. “Hellooo-o?”
Aura sees Kyle come into view as they are walking down the hall. His face is very pale and his breathing is rugged and off. It looks like Celeste noticed that he isn’t doing so well.
“Hey! Kid!” Celeste yell loudly, trying to get his attention. “Are you o-”
He starts falling and Celeste starts forward to catch him. She quickly swoops him in a bridal hold. Aura rushes up beside her.
“Woah, is he ok?”
“I don’t know, I think he fainted. I’m Celeste by the way if you didn’t know. I would shake your hand but…” She doesn’t end the sentence as she looks down at kyle.
Aura smiles, “Hi Celeste, I think we have met before, but just in case my name is Aura. Now about kyle… we should try to wake him up so we don’t have to drag him down the hallway.”
“He looks so peaceful, I don’t want to wake him up. Besides, he’s not that heavy, he’s like a feather.” She start walking to the principal's office.
“Oh alright.” Aura follows her into the principal's office.
As she comes in with Celeste and Kyle, Aura sees two girls who she thinks is Alina and Avani. And she sees Carter off to the side. Everyone knows who Carter is, he is a straight A student and he is so dreamy… Aura realizing she just thought that she stops immediately as she notices everyone is staring at Kyle in Celeste’s arms.
“He fainted ok? It was probably the poor kids first time in the principal's office.” Celeste says sounding annoyed. Kyle shifts in her arms. “I think he’s waking up.” He lets out a groan. “Yep, he’s waking up.”
She sets him set him in the chair and sits next to him. That Avani comes and sits next to him looking worried. The others start to ask what happened when Principal Stevens starts calling attendance.
“Alina Quinn?”
“I’m here.” She says bored.
“Aura Wilkerson?”
“Here-e” Aura stutters nervously.
“Avani Goodwin?”
“Over here!” She says in a sweet singsong voice.
“Carter Ashford?”
“Yes sir?” Carter says trying to impress the principal.
“Celeste Wolf? Ms. Wolf? Celeste Wolf!” Principal Stevens almost shouts to get Celeste's attention.
“Supreme assistant captain of the Argo ii reporting for duty!” Celeste says loud and abruptly.
Right after she seems to realize her mistake, and her face turns red as she tries to be invisible.
“Kyle Goodwin?”
Kyle wakes up just as his name is called, “Huh? Wuz going on?...” He says groggily, still waking up.
“Good afternoon Alina, Avani, Celeste, Aura, Carter, and Kyle. Now you all must be wondering why you are here. I have contacted your parents or parent,” He looks knowing at Aura. “That you will be here every single day after school. It is not because you aren’t doing well, it is because you guys are doing so well you need something else to challenge you. The buses will come back for you after we have finished. Now we will head to the library and begin!”
“I have a question!” Kyle asks, looking like he was back to normal.
“Yes?” Says Principal Stevens
“What if you walk home sir?” Kyle asks.
“Then you may walk home if you wish.” He answers tiredly “Now please children, go to the library and make sure you ‘study’.” He winks at the end. We all walk out before anyone realizes what he could have meant.
“Wait!” Celeste yells.
Celeste turns around and open his door. The Aura and the others come and crowd around her. Principle Stevens was gone.
“DUN DUN DUUUUNNNN!” Everyone jumps and turns around to see Kyle laughing on the ground. “You guys totally got scared. The look on your faces were priceless!” He starts laughing again.
Aura and the group start the walk to the library with Carter and Kyle laughing in back of the group. It’s a nice, clear day outside and it feels pretty nice. Aura reflects on how weird it was that Principle Stevens disappeared like that. Maybe he has something to do with her powers? Aura shakes her head absently, no that wouldn’t be possible he's just a normal principle at a normal school. Though it is also strange how he put us into a study group…
She loses her train of thought as they reach the library. Aura has always been amazed how they were able to get the funds to build this place. It is has 5 different levels with the first being the lobby. There seems to be thousands maybe millions of books! Aura never has been crazy about reading but she does enjoy a good book.
Everyone seems to be off to find a book to read. Principle Stevens is nowhere in sight. Aura personally doesn’t really feel like reading a book at the moment so she goes for a walk around the library. Its so big it would probably take at least and hour to walk around the entire thing!
Aura peers over the edge from one of the upper levels and hears a radio playing some music. Alina seems to be dancing to it, and she's pretty good. Aura also sees some of the other students sitting down to read. Carter seems to be still looking for a book. He is so graceful as he walks around the library... so cute… Aura catches herself again thinking about Carter. It disgusts her how she seems to be always thinking about him.
Suddenly the radio starts beeping and starts relaying a urgent message.
“We just got a warning from our sources that there is a major tornado in the county, Dylann county. So if your in the area please find a safe place to be.”
Aura’s mind is racing because she is thinking about the tornado and how much destruction it could cause, and thinking about all that makes her light headed and she sits down on a nearby bench and tries to think about something else to calm her nerves.
Celeste starts shouting, “Everyone follow me to the basement! Follow me please and grab your stuff.”
Kyle starts screaming and as everyone turns their head to see the tornado heading towards us!
Xx-=+=-xX
Celeste 3:35
“Ding dong ding!” I hear the bell ring. Looking at the clock I realize that I just finished seventh period. I hurry to pack my stuff up so I can go home. I really want to get back to my current book, “The House of Hades” by Uncle Rick, so I can read the adventures the seven, (my true friends) are participating in. I’ve read it before but… who cares! These are the true people that I know, not like my actual ‘family’. They assume that I don’t like them when rather I prefer to read. Same thing with school. Everyone thinks that I hate people, which has earned me the title the official “Lone Wolf” of the school. Don’t get me wrong, people can be annoying, narcissistic, self centered, jerks, brats, crybabies, etc., but that doesn’t mean that I hate them.
“Wolf!” Yes, my last name happens to be Wolf, which doesn’t help the whole “Lone Wolf” thing.
“Yes Coach Schoelman?” I ask.
“The Principle would like to see you in his office, now!” He practically yells. The coach is a very loud person naturally, but I don’t mind. Sometimes having someone yell at you motivates you to keep going.
“Yes sir!” I reply. I run into the girls locker room and quickly change into my normal outfit, a t-shirts that is orange with the words, “Camp Half-Blood” written on it, a pegasus, and more words saying, “Long Island Sound”. Then sometime I have a black sweatshirt over it with the words, “I solemnly swear I’m up to no good” written on it, but since I was just doing gymnastics, I shoved it into my bag. I slip on some dark blue jeggings, and take off my smelly sneakers and shove them along with my clothes into the locker. Then, I put on my favourite pair of shoes. Yeah, I’m a geek, I know that. I look in the mirror before putting on my hat.
I leave the gym and start heading to the principal's office. I know exactly where I’m going based off of memory. Yes, I’ve been to the principal's office before. It’s wasn’t that I did something wrong, it was that Principal Stevens thought I didn’t have enough friends. Which I don’t but what do I care?
I take a turn when I see the kid from the lunchroom earlier stumbling around. I remember the fact that he was afraid to sit with me but, he at least sat at my table and that’s a start. I start walking faster. ‘What are you thinking Celeste?’ Says the ‘logical’ part of me. ‘Making a friend!’ The ‘Emotional’ part of me fires back.
‘‘Hey! Kid!” I yell loudly, I get closer and hear his breathing patterns are off. “Are you o-”
He starts falling and I dash forward to catch him. When I do I shift my weight so that I’, holding him bridal style. He looks peaceful, tired almost. He’s not really heavy, either that or I’m stronger than I thought. I feel bad that I don’t know his name. I feel a body rush up beside me.
“Woah, is he ok?” asks a voice that sounds vaguely familiar.
“I don’t know, I think he fainted. I’m Celeste by the way if you didn’t know. I would shake your hand but…” I don’t end the sentence. I look down at kyle to show my words. Aura smiles,
“Hi Celeste, I think we have met before, but just in case my name is Aura. Now about kyle… we should try to wake him up so we don’t have to drag him down the hallway.” I shake my head in a no.
“He looks so peaceful, I don’t want to wake him up. Besides, he’s not that heavy, he’s like a feather.” I start walking to the principal's office, hoping Aura would follow me.
“Oh alright.” I hear behind me. When we walk in, I see some of the popular kids, Alina and Carter. There’s also a girl who I think name’s Avani. Principal Stevens looks at my arms in a confused manner. In fact, everyone was looking at my arms.
“He fainted ok? It was probably the poor kids first time in the principal's office.” I say annoyed. I feel movement in my arms. “I think he’s waking up.” He lets out a groan. “Yep, he’s waking up.” I set him in the chair and sit next to him. That Avani girl comes and sits next to him looking worried. ‘OMG!’ says the emotional part of me, Jessica is what I named her. ‘What?’ says the logical side, a.k.a. Charlie. ‘They are like totally siblings! OMG that is so cute!’ Jessica squeals. ‘If it’s so cute, then why don’t we see them together as much?’ Charlie fires back. ‘...’ Jessica doesn’t respond.
“Celeste Wolf? Ms. Wolf? Celeste Wolf!” A voice jogs me back to reality, Principle Stevens
“Supreme assistant captain of the Argo ii reporting for duty!” I say loudly and instantaneously, without think of where I was. I realize my mistake immediately and feel heat going to my face. I back up into the doors shadow trying to hide.
“Kyle Goodwin?” he says the next name, making me realize that he was calling roll and the I missed most of the names being called.
“Huh? Wuz going on?” He asks groggily.
‘That’s his name, Kyle.’ I think in my mind. ‘Will do good to remember that ma’am.’ says Charlie
“Good afternoon Alina, Avani, Celeste, Aura, Carter, and Kyle. Now you all must be wondering why you are here. I have contacted your parents or parent.” He looks knowing at Aura. “That you will be here every single day after school.”
‘No kidding Johnny’ Charlie and Jessica say at the same time. For once they agree on something
“It is not because you aren’t doing well, it is because you guys are doing so well you need something else to challenge you. The buses will come back for you after you are done. Go walk to the library and begin!”
“I have a question!” Kyle asks, looking like he was back to normal.
“Yes?” Says Principal Stevens
“What if you walk home sir?” He asks.
“Then you may walk home if you wish.” He answers tiredly “Now please children, go to the library and make sure you ‘study’.” He winks at the end. We all walk out before anyone realizes what he could have meant.
“Wait!” I yell. I turn around and open his door. The others come and crowd around me. Principle Stevens was gone.
“DUN DUN DUUUUNNNN!” Everyone jumps and turns around to see Kyle laughing on the ground. “You guys totally got scared. The look on your faces were priceless!” He starts laughing again.
We restart our trek to the amazing library that I totally try not to spend my free time in. Hehe. ‘Well, maybe you would have some friends if you would try and talk to people’ Jessica says and I can imagine she would be filing her nails while doing so. ‘Logically, I’m pretty sure that’s impossible seeing as Ms. Celeste is emotionally attached to the books. No offence Ms. Celeste.” She says. She’s the more polite one out of the two.
“None taken Charlie” I mutter quietly.
“Who’s Charlie?” Avani asks coming up behind me
“Hmm, oh no one you would know” I respond distractedly and quickly. No one would no Jessica or Charlie. No one would know the fact that I moved from Oregon to here, that I don’t belong. And know one will know about my shadow abilities, ever. I will make sure of that.
We finally make it to the library, my dream come true. The principal's office is so far that it felt like I was walking a mile to get over here. Once inside, everyone disperecis to go grab some books. ‘I thought this was a study group?’ Charlie asks to no one in particular. ‘Oh well,’ Jessica starts ‘Let poor Celeste read, it’s been a long first day back.’ ‘Thanks!’ I say in my head.
I reach into my bag to grab The House of Hades (Hey, you. Yeah you the reader! Go read this series! Ok, now I’ll stop breaking the fourth wall, BYE) and open to the page I left off on, pg. 135. I try to read about how Nico and Frank both played Mythomagic, but my mind just can’t seem to grasp what’s going on.
‘How did Principal Stevens disappear like that?’ I think in my mind. ‘Well, thinking about this in a logical manner, there wasn’t any rooms in his office and he couldn’t hide under his desk so it has to be that he has powers.’ Charlie sys triumphantly. All of the sudden, there’s a beeping sound. It’s coming from the radio.
“We just got a warning from our sources that there is a major tornado in the county, Dylann county. So if your in the area please find a safe place to be.” says the news reporter dude.
I drop my book. This is Dylann county. Suddenly I remember shouting for everyone to follow me into the basement. I remember grabbing my stuff and walking to the basement yelling for them to follow me, and quickly. I hear screaming and look to see that it’s Kyle. He has a look of pure terror on his face. When I look at what he seems to be looking at, I can see the tornado outside, maybe a couple miles away, heading straight towards us.
Alina- 3: 35
At the end of seventh period I was working on a dance move for the winter dance, when Mrs. Maria comes up to me.
“Principal Stevens wants you in his office as the bell rings for dismissal. He said it would be very important. By the way your dance moves are on point. Good Job!”
I keep on working on my dance moves when the bell rings. I grab my backpack, run to the girl’s bathroom, and quickly get changed into my jeans, pink sweater, grey jacket, and grey high boots. I walk to the principal’s office witch is on the other side of the school. When I am walking, I past the library and look inside wondering why the door is wide open and continue walking.
‘Why do I have to go to the principal’s office! Why in the whole California do I have to go there!! I have never been there before but I have walked past it. I know I should have not spilled my eyeshadow all over the sink in the girl’s bathroom...’
As I am walking I see some girl holding a red head in her arms. I hear some other girl say, ’’Oh alright”
Then they look at me and some boy behind me named Carter. He is also a cool kid so I know him.
Creek! I open the door to Principal Stevens office slowly and as quietly as I possibly can. I slip in and sit down waiting to be asked in. The clock strikes three forty and other fellow high schoolers, that I have never seen before, walk in and sit down. Principal Stevens starts calling roll.
“Alina Quinn?”
“I’m here.” I say like I am bored. ‘Roll call is so boring!’ I don’t listen to everyone else get their name called while I wait for instruction.
“Good afternoon Alina, Avani, Celeste, Aura, Carter, and Kyle. Now you all must be wondering why you are here. I have contacted your parents or parent.” He looks knowingly at Aura. ”That you will be here every single day after school. That you will be here every single day after school. It is not because you aren’t doing well, it is because you guys are doing so well you need something else to challenge you. The buses will come back for you after you are done. Go walk to the library and begin!”
“I have a question!” Kyle asks, looking like he was back to normal.
“Yes?” Says Principal Stevens
“What if you walk home sir?” Kyle asks.
“Then you may walk home if you wish.” He answers tiredly “Now please children, go to the library and make sure you ‘study’.” He winks at the end. We all walk out before anyone realizes what he could have meant.
“Wait!” Celeste yells.
Celeste turns around and open his door. Then me and the others come and crowd around her. Principle Stevens was gone.
“DUN DUN DUUUUNNNN!” Everyone jumps and turns around to see Kyle laughing on the ground. “You guys totally got scared. The look on your faces were priceless!” He starts laughing again.
We walked to the library with Kyle laughing with Carter in the back and finally arrived. ‘I hate how the principal’s office is on one side of the school and the library is on the other side. It’s just a pain!’
We opened the door, ran inside and grabbed books, while I ran to the window to look outside. Outside was a clear sky with six little white clouds slowly moving in the wind. I walk back down the stairs toward the books and find one about makeup tips. I look for somewhere to sit finding a place in the middle of the room on a blue couch. The radio starts playing and I look over to see Kyle turning it on sitting down reading a book about college’s.
The radio is playing one of the songs for my dance show! I close my book and go to an empty area in the room, starting to practice the dance moves for this song.
‘And kick, now spin, fall to your knees, and jazz hands. Now the big finish……’
I am interrupted by Kyle laughing at my dance moves. I just continue.
‘Now the big finish…… jump up and do a twirl’
The radio starts beeping and everyone stares at it wondering why.
“We just got a warning from our sources that there is a major tornado in the county, Dylann county. So if your in the area please find a safe place to be.”
Everybody apparently doesn’t know what stay calm means because most everybody runs around knocking over blue couches.
“Follow me to the basement everyone!” Celeste says.
I listen and walk to the stairs and walk down all the stairs, down to the basement. I look and see the tornado heading right towards us!
Change Is On The Way!
By: Ann Edwards, Ava Nelson, and Lily Percy
Hey peeps! So you may have noticed that I (Ava) have changed my writing style to third person because it's “more professional”. Also, we are going to change the format of the story for next chapter. We are going to switch the point of view, and it won’t be the same thing that happened in the last person's point of view, so that you won’t re-read the same thing fifty million times. If you would like this new change, PLEASE COMMENT! They are very much appreciated. Thanks for reading again! SEE YOU LATER! *All three wave while jumping*
Chapter 3 - Book of What Now?
Carter
“Everyone follow me to the basement!” Celeste yells.
Kyle starts screaming at the top of his lungs and everyone turns around to see what he’s screaming at. They see the big tornado is a couple of miles away heading towards the library straight on. A few other shrieks erupt after that, and everyone is rushing to follow Celeste. Carter notices that Aura, who is sitting on a bench seems a little faint and Kyle is standing there screaming still.
“Ladies first…” Carter mumbles to himself and turns and runs towards Aura’s direction to help her and out of the corner of his eye, he sees Celeste coming back for Kyle.
“Aura come on, we got to go. We need to hurry.” Aura just sits there staring at the ground looking very pale and dazed.
“Come...on…” Carter pushes Aura to her feet and puts her arm around his neck and brings her down the stairs into the basement.
“Alright here you go.” Carter tells her as he sets her down on a nearby chair.
Aura faintly stutters, “Th-thanks” She looks away blushing.
When the whole group has made their way down Kyle announces that they should head farther back just to be safe. The older students and teachers that were there before the study group came and stayed there, while the rest of us followed Kyle into the next room. When Kyle opens the door, from the back of the group Carter sees something light up but the light quickly fades away and the door is opened. Carter wonders what happened but doesn’t give it a second thought. After everyone is in, Carter locks the door behind them so the door won’t blow open. Carter still helping Aura, sets her down in a chair near Avani.
“Is everyone alright?” Avani asks, mainly looking at Kyle.
“I’m alright” Kyle says looking down at hands as if looking for some sign.
Everyone mumbles how they are doing as well.
“We should go back for the other people, they could get hurt!” Kyle says. Celeste goes to open the door when a big gust of wind hits the door with a bang, jamming the door shut. Celeste is thrown backward and Kyle rushes to her to see if she is alright.
“I’m fine, really.” Celeste says, standing up and brushing herself off.
Kyle seems to look little dizzy and nauseous as he sits down leaning against the wall.
“Hey man, you good?” Carter asks Kyle worriedly.
“Is the room spinning or something?” Kyle says not look good.
“Ok buddy, how many fingers am I holding up?” Carter asks again holding up three fingers.
“Uh let’s see one, two, three, four-” Kyle gets cut off because fire is flaming from his hands. Carter and everyone else jumps and moves to the other side of the room.
“Well there's an issue.” He says idley, like it’s normal.
“Don’t worry, I am completely fine.” Kyle says and just after he finishes his sentence the fire goes out. He stands up using the wall to support him since everyone else is as far away from him as they can get.
“Is it just me or am I the only one a little worried and creeped out?!” Aura says in a scared voice, still inching back towards the end of the room.
Water starts seeping out from under the floor and rises to about half an inch. Everyone freaks out again, and Kyle panics the most. Carter assumes that he must have Bathophobia, the fear of large bodies of water. Kyle starts screaming, running around the room, unaware that his arms are on fire.
In the chaos vines start growing up the wall closing around the door further trapping them. The light switches on and off, and a cold feeling spreads across the room gathering in a fog of darkness at the ceiling. Dust from all the old chairs start swirling around the room creating mini tornados.
BAM, BAM! The door swings open almost flying from it’s hinges and a parrot, awfully similar to the one in his dream flies in, cawing. Everything stops as the parrot perches on a chair and the room looks like nothing ever happened. Then the bird gets up and flies away almost like it wants us all to follow it. Kyle gets up and looks like he is going to speak.
“This probably sounds like something out of a movie, but we should follow the bird, maybe the tornado is gone and that’s how it got in the building?” Kyle says curiously.
“Oh yes we shall follow that bird, it will lead us to safety!” Avanni says in a singsong, girly voice.
“Ohhh… how can this be happening? This is realy surreal. It must not not be real, it cannot be…” Carter drifts off in disbelief.
“Oh it’s real kid, this is happening.” Celeste says like this is normal.
“This would make a good Instagram story!” Alina says excitedly.
“Oh you are not posting that” Aura says seriously, “DO you know how people would react?! People would go crazy!”
“Well… People are ignorant enough that they would think its a story from one of those fantasy books.” Carter explains, contradicting her statement.
“We should probably start following that bird. Let’s go!” Avanni says reminding them of what they were originally doing.
The group heads out the door with Avanni in the lead and Carter following in suit. Aura is behind Carter with a weird look on her face. Also Kyle is excited and skipping behind her. Behind Kyle is Celeste who decided to just to jog. Last but not least, Alina is in the back trying not to ‘ruin’ her shoes.
As everyone comes out of the basement everyone gasps in awe because where the library once was, there was a new very old library full of scrolls from ancient Greece. The place looked like it had come out of their history books. The roof opened up to a glass dome with sunlight shining through. There are busts around the edges close to the walls, and beside those walls are hallways that lead to more and more scrolls. In the middle of it all there is an book on a pedestal. The book shines and glows in the sunlight. Many in the group start walking forward towards to book including Carter. It seems to be magically glowing brighter as Carter walks toward it with the others. Time feels like was put on pause as a small breeze sweeps through the place.
“Hello children, you must be wondering why you’re here.” The voice that sounds a lot like Principle Stevens but is closer to the old man in Carter dream says. Everyone jumps startled by him. A few shrieks erupt around the room.
“I am Oswald” Oswald says. “You probably know that already, which is why I’m going to cut to the chase. You have to protect this book with your life, no matter what. This book is the recordings of the past, present, and future. Someone of the future has elected themselves to help you with this task. Good day.” He winks and disappears in a blink.
“Why does he keep doing this?!?” Alina says, almost annoyed.
The book flies open glowing even brighter than before as the room dims. A voice starts speaking like its normal for a voice to be coming from a book.
“That was quite an introduction. Don’t worry, Oswald does that a lot.” The voice from the book says. The voice sounds as like if Oswald had been a young teen girl.
Xx-=+=-xX
Kyle ?:??  P.m.?
“We just got a warning from our sources that there is a major tornado in the county, Dylann county. So if your in the area please find a safe place to be” Says the person talking on the radio.
Kyle stares in horror at the radio. A tornado, in Dylann County? This isn’t happening right? Is this just a dream? He tries shaking his head, vaguely hearing someone shouting to follow them into the basement. When he looks up, there’s a bone chilling sight that awaits his eyes.
Kyle screams a high pitched scream that echoes through the empty library. The tornado, a couple miles away, is heading straight towards the school. He feels someone grab his left arm. He jerks his head up to see who it is and it’s Celeste trying to pull him in with her too the basement. He remembers running with her and nothing else. She came back for him, but why?
He sees the stairs and then starts running towards them, dragging Celeste with him. The noises of everyone’s shoes echoing off of the wall calms him down. When they finally climb down all the stairs and make it into the basement, Kyle collapses. Celeste came back for him, no one has ever done that before. Finally, after catching his breath, he stands up. He realizes that they are still near an open staircase and that they need to get back farther.
“Can we go back farther? ‘Cause, you know, we’re still kinda near an open staircase.” Kyle says quickly. He looks down corridor and sees a door at the end of it. And Kyle starts walking, hoping the others were following him. He goes to touch the door when his hand lights on fire. Kyle tries to put it out, but it still stays so he puts it in his sleeve and opens the door. Right when he walks in, the fire on his hand goes out. When everyone is inside, Carter locks the door behind them. ‘Maybe so it won’t blow open?’ Kyle thinks.
“Is everyone alright?” Avani asks, mainly looking at Kyle.
“I’m alright” Kyle says looking down at his hands. There were no scorch marks as usual, but there was the weird tingling sensation he got every time he uses his powers.
“We should go back for the other people, they could get hurt!” Kyle says, realizations dawning on him. ‘It was warning me not to come in!’ He thinks.
Celeste goes to open the door, when a wind comes out of nowhere, slamming the door shut and blowing her across the room. ‘Is she ok?!?!’ Is the first thought that came to Kyle’s head. He runs over to where she fell, making sure that she’s ok.
“I’m fine, really.” Celeste says, standing up and brushing herself off. There seems to be an effect that Kyle’s feeling, like the room was spinning. ‘Maybe I’m just nauseas again’ he thinks, plopping down onto the floor, his back against the wall.
“Hey man, you good?” Carter asks Kyle worriedly. ‘What would he care if I’m alright? I’m just a nobody.’ Kyle thinks with a sigh.
“Is the room spinning or something?” Kyle elects to say.
“Ok buddy, how many fingers am I holding up?” Carter asks again holding up three fingers.
“Uh let’s see one, two, three, four-” Kyle gets cut off because he starts smelling smoke. He looks down and realizes that his hands are on fire, again. “Well there's an issue.” He says idley, to no one in particular. Mostly everyone backs up to the other end of the room.
“Don’t worry, I am completely safe.” Kyle says and just like that, the fire is out. He tries to stand up, and succeeds, with the support of the wall of course.
“Is it just me or am I the only one a little worried and creeped out?!” Aura says in a scared voice, still slowly walking to the back of the room.
All of the sudden, the room starts flooding, but there was no source, the water seemed to be seeping out of the ground. Kyle starts panicking, seeing as he has a smaller case of Bathophobia.  Bathophobia means the fear of depths. It is fear or anxiety associated with the sea or water bodies of various types. Though many Bathophobic individuals are also known to fear tunnels, mountain valleys or caves. He screams and starts running around the room in circles, waving his arms around, unaware that his arms are on fire. Vines are growing up on the walls, and the dark room starts lighting up. Then, a cold feeling spread across the room and envelopes the room in darkness, even Kyles arms go out. Dust/dirt outlines a from of mini tornados.
BAM! BAM! The door flies open and a bird flies in, the one from Kyle’s dream. Everything stops and we freeze. Kyle eyes the bird warily. It caws once and flies away, expecting us to follow it. Kyle gets up and looks at everyone.
“This probably sounds like something out of a movie, but we should follow the bird. Maybe the tornado is gone and that’s how it got in the building?” Kyle says curiously.
“Oh yes we should follow that bird, it shall lead us to safety!” Avani says excitedly, her eyes gleaming in the dim light.
“Ohhh… how can this be happening? This is realy surreal. It must not be real, it cannot be…” Carter drifts off in disbelief.
“Oh it’s real kid, this is happening.” Celeste says boredly, like this was explained a million times.
“This would make a good Instagram story!” Alina says like any ‘Social Media Girl’ would.
“Oh you are not posting that” Aura says with the most serious face, “DO you know how people would react?! People would go crazy!”
“Well… People are ignorant enough that they would think its a story from one of those fantasy books.” Carter says matter of factly.
“We should probably start following that bird. Let’s go!” Avani whines, anxious to get going.
We start jogging after that bird with Avani practically sprinting after it. Next up was Carter keeping pace with Avani, followed by Aura. And there was Kyle who was skipping with the happiest look on his face. Behind them was Celeste who had an annoyed face and was jogging. ‘I wonder if she’s tired?’ Kyle thinks happily. Then Alina was just walking, looking annoyed with the prospect of having to even walking to wherever their destination was.
When they arrive, the sight before them was. It wasn’t their library but Kyle didn’t care. It was an old looking one, yet it looked brand new, like it had never been used. The library was filled with scrolls instead of book, and when you walked up a small set of stairs, the light was shining in from the windows that had greek looking statues. Around the circular room were many busts. And in the center of it all, there seemed to be a glowing book. When Kyle got closer, time seemed to stop, like he wasn’t aging at all, he was just frozen in time. This was his dream, besides Yale, to be in an Ancient Greek library, hanging around with philosophers.
“Hello children, you must be wondering why you’re here.” A vaguely familiar voice says. We all jump, Kyle feels a shriek leave his mouth. He grabs onto the closest thing to him, which happened to be Celeste. He looks up at Celeste and hastily removes himself.
“I am Oswald” Oswald says. “You probably know that already which is why I’m going to cut to the chase. You have to protect this book with your life, no matter what. This book is the recordings of the past, present and future. Someone of the future has  elected themselves to help you with this task. Good day.” He winks and disappears. Kyle blinks and Oswalds gone.
“Why does he keep doing that?!?” Alina exclaims annoyed. Suddenly, the book flies open. Kyle turns around to look at it.
An average teen lower teen girls voice sounds right next to us, but when I look no ones there. It sounds like Oswald would sound as a teenage girl. “That was quite an introduction. Don’t worry, Oswald does that a lot.”
-=+X+=-
Avani  ????
When I heard about the tornado, I ran all over the room thinking about why the heck there was a tornado. I tried to think it away.
‘You were not invited, go away. Go away. I said go away!’ I think angrily.
“GO AWAY!” I say not meaning to.
‘I hope nobody heard me say go away!’ I think a little embarrassed.
Kyle screams a high pitched shriek and stares out the window. I walk in a circle trying to get dizzy so I could wake up from this terrible dream! Sadly, it’s not working.
“Follow me to the basement everyone!” I hear Celeste say. I was slowly walking down to the basement anyway.
I follow her and run ahead when Alina stops me knowing that I will probably get hurt. I walk down the stairs and hear the footsteps of our feet echoing. I can see Celeste from the back and see her Camp Half-blood t-shirt.
“Can we go back farther? ‘Cause, you know, we’re still kinda near an open staircase.” I hear Kyle say as we slowly come to a stop.
I walk behind Celeste reaching the basement, feeling so tired from walking down all those stairs. I look around seeing that there is a light. I pull the cord, turning the light on. I take off my backpack, and find a seat near a door.
“Why is there a door there, Should we go inside?” Kyle asks.
We all decide to walk inside and look to see what’s inside.
“Is everybody alright?” I say, looking at Kyle
“I’m alright” Kyle says, looking down at his hands. “We should go back for the other people, they could get hurt!”
Celeste goes to open the door, when a wind comes out of nowhere, slamming the door shut and blowing her across the room.
‘Is she okay?’ I think worriedly.
“I’m fine, really.” Celeste says, standing up and brushing herself off.
Kyle plops down onto the floor randomly for some unknown reason. He seems to look little dizzy and nauseous as he sits down leaning against the wall.
“Hey man, you good?” Carter asks Kyle worriedly.
“Is the room spinning or something?” Kyle chooses to say.
“Ok buddy, how many fingers am I holding up?” Carter asks again holding up three fingers.
“Uh let’s see one, two, three, four-” Kyle gets cut off. ‘Is that smoke I’m smelling?’ I think in my head. I look and see that his hands are on fire. I slowly start backing away to the other side of this circular chamber.
“Well there's an issue.” He says idley, to no one in particular.
‘What the heck, his hands on fire’ I think slowly walking
“Don’t worry, I am completely safe.” Kyle says and the fire is put out. He stands up and doesn't fall.
“Is it just me or am I the only one a little worried and creeped out?!” Aura says sounding terrified while slowly walking to the back of the room.
All of the sudden, water started coming out of nowhere flooding half of an inch. Everyone freaks out, with Kyle panicking the most. Of course I just remembered, he has Bathophobia. He screams and runs around the room wildly, with his arms burning from fire. In the craziness, I accidently make some vines start to climb up the wall and around the door. The dark chamber starts lighting up and darkening again, a cold feeling spreads around, making Kyles arms go out. Dust and Dirt flies around forming mini tornados.
BAM! BAM! The door flings open with a bird, that I swear I saw before, flying in making everything stop. I stare at the bird as it flies over to a chair and perches on it. It caws then slowly gets up and fly away. It seems like it wants us to follow it. Kyle looks at us.
“This probably sounds like something out of a movie, maybe the tornado is gone and that’s how it got in the building?”says Kyle.
“Oh yes we should follow that bird, it will lead us to safety!” I yell
“Ohhh… how can this be happening? This is really surreal. It must not be real, it cannot be…” Carter says slowly, not believing.
“Oh it’s real kid, this is happening.” Celeste says sounding tired and bored.
“This would make a good Instagram story!” Alina says confidently.
“Oh you are not posting that” Aura says sounding very serious, “DO you know how people would react?! People would go crazy!”
“Well… people are ignorant enough that they would think its a story from one of those fantasy books.” I hear Carter explains.
“We should probably start following that bird. Let’s go!” I say.
’I must follow that pretty bird!’ I yell in my mind.
We jog after the bird to see where it leads us. I was in the lead with Carter right behind me. Next was Kyle, skipping around, with Celeste following with the most annoyed face. Finally Alina walks up and follows Celeste, trying not to ruin her shoes.
When they arrived at the mystery location, I notice that we were in a library, but not the normal one. It was ancient with scrolls in selves. When I walked in I saw sunlight glistening down on to a book! The book’s title said “The Book of…..”  But then it was faded away so I couldn’t read what it said. I went to take a closer look and time must have just stopped because I went to look what time it was on my phone but realized it wouldn’t turn on.
“Hello children, you must be wondering why you’re here.” A familiar voice comes out of nowhere and we all jump in surprise. Kyle shrieks and happens to grab Celeste, which is so weird.
“I am Oswald” Oswald says. “You probably know that already which is why I’m going to cut to the chase. You have to protect this book with your life, no matter what. This book is the recordings of the past, present and future. Someone of the future has elected themselves to help you with this task. Good day.” He winks and disappears.
“Why does he keep doing this?!?” I hear Alina say.
The book springs open and starts saying, “That was quite an introduction. Don’t worry, Oswald does that a lot.” Which sounds like a casual teenage low voice of a girl. For some random reason it sounded a bit like Oswald. It’s scary because it sounds like they are right next to me.
